Unit 1: Charlie’s pet

Holidays are finished. Charlie and Mary are happy. Let’s go to school!

Charlie has a surprise for his friends. It’s Sally the turtle, his new pet.

Everybody is in the classroom. The teacher writes on the blackboard, "Welcome to school!".

Charlie and Sally are next to a tree. Mary is playing with a ball. Their friends are running.

Unit 2: Going for a walk with Billy

Charlie, Mary and Billy go for a walk in the street with Grandad.
-What’s happening Grandad?
-It’s autumn. Leaves are falling on the road.

Now leaves are brown, orange and yellow. The road sweeper is cleaning the park.

Mary, Charlie and Billy are walking on the street. They can see a litter bin, a post box, a lamp post, and a bench.

-Look at this! It’s a traffic light. When it’s green, we can cross. When it’s red,
we have to wait.

Unit 3: At Mary’s house

Today Charlie, and Boo boo are at Mary’s house. Boo boo is very happy. Billy has a lot of toys.

It’s time for lunch! The table is ready with the tablecloth. There are glasses, plates and spoons.

Charlie and Sally are in the bathroom. Charlie puts Sally in the sink and she can swim.

Billy and Boo boo are in the bedroom. There’s a bed, a rug, a teddy bear, a doll and some puzzles.

Unit 4: I see a snowman

-Boo boo, look out the window! -says Charlie-. The sky is grey and it’s snowing!
Mary and Billy are making a snowman. It’s winter.

Charlie doesn’t feel very well. He has a cold. Boo boo is cold too. He is next to the heater.

Mummy, Charlie and Boo boo go to the doctor’s. They put on their coats,
gloves and scarfs.

Charlie has a cold and the doctor gives him some medicine.

Unit 5: Let’s go shopping

Grandad takes Mary and Charlie to the market.

Grandad has to do the shopping at the shops at the market. In the butcher’s they buy chicken, steaks, ham for sandwiches and mince for Boo boo as he likes it a lot.

They buy bread and a plum cake at the bakery. Grandad buys a big fish for dinner at the fishmonger’s.

They buy six yellow bananas, seven green apples, eight oranges and some purple plums at the greengrocer’s. They like fruit a lot.

Unit 6: Flowers for the classroom

The sun is shining. Trees have green leaves and birds are singing. It’s spring!

They are in the park.
-Look Sally!
There are swings, a slide, and a pond with fish and ducks.

Sally is swimming in the pond. She is very happy.

Mary likes flowers. They smell very well!

Unit 7: A film about animals

Today is Mary’s birthday. They have a party at Mary’s house. There are a lot of balloons.

There are a lot of presents: a brown bear, some black flippers, a necklace and a film about animals.

Charlie gives a book to Mary. It’s about planes, trains and boats.

Now they are all watching the film. There is a lion, a big elephant, a monkey, a tiger and a snake!
