Unit 1: CHARLIE AND MARY

First day at school. Charlie is very nervous.

Mary lives next to Charlie. Her little brother is Billy. They live with their grandparents.

The pencils are red. The rubbers are yellow. The pencil sharpener is blue.
And the apple is green.

There’s a new teacher at school. She’s Ethel.

UNIT 2: IT’S RAINING!

Charlie and Boo boo are looking at the window. It’s raining.

Mary has a raincoat and wellies. They are orange. Charlie’s wellies are red.

Grandad has a big umbrella. It’s green. They all go to school.

Charlie is back home. He’s in the kitchen. He eats soup with a spoon. He likes it.

UNIT 3: TOYS AT SCHOOL

It’s Christmas! Charlie and Boo boo have presents under the Christmas tree.

Charlie has a doll. It looks like a girl. She has eyes, nose, mouth, fingers, toes and feet.

Mary has a green ball and a blue car. Billy has a puzzle.

Charlie and his friends play with the new toys at school.

UNIT 4: IT’S SO COLD!

It’s winter and it’s cold.
-Mummy, tuck me in, please! -says Charlie.

In the morning Charlie and his Daddy have breakfast together.
They drink milk and eat a sandwich.

Mary and Grandad are at Charlie’s house. They have gloves, a woolly hat and a scarf.

It’s very cold. Charlie, Mary and Grandad run to school.

UNIT 5: I LIKE FRUIT!

Charlie, Mary and Grandad are very happy. It’s spring.

They are in the park. There are green leaves, flowers and butterflies. It’s beautiful.

Let’s eat some fruit at break time! Pears, strawberries, bananas, apples and plums.

Charlie and his friends play, jump and run at the playground.

UNIT 6: A HOUSE WITH ANIMALS

Today Charlie, Mary, Billy, Boo boo and Grandad are very happy. They go to a farm.

They see four black and white cows. They are very big and say: "Moo, moo".

There are six white hens. They say: "Cluck, cluck, cluck".

Grandad and Billy like the sheep. They are white and say: "Baa, baa".
